Faces of Fostering…

We highlight the people that make Active Care Solutions so different and so special. We are proud to be a fostering agency that welcomes people of all faith (including those that are not religious) where your religious needs are respected and understood. We are an ethnically diverse organisation where people work together with one common goal. To make a difference for young people in foster care.   Here is Andrew’s story.

Early life…

I would describe my early life as happy and grounded, I was brought up to have strong principles from an early age.  I had a good circle of friends in the neighbourhood, which I grew up in.  Some of those friends back then I still see now occasionally.

Adult life…

I studied at University of Birmingham and qualified as a social worker in 1997. I’m married and I now have 3 children 2 boys and 1 girl.  I attend Church family functions and also undertaking volunteer work for a christian charity.

Faith…

I was brought up in a Christian household, although when I was younger I did not fully understand my faith. However, as I have matured over the years I now have a deeper understanding of the faith which I now practice today.

Why I work for ACS…

I have been part of ACS from its inception. The vision that was outlined from the outset remains to the present day. The agency genuinely puts children at the fore front of what we do and I’m extremely proud of the support, which we provide to our carers. Over the years we have received positive comments from children, foster parents and local authority colleagues. I am very proud to be a Fostering Service Manager working within a unique fostering service.
