My background…

I was born in the UK in Blackburn. I come from a big family, I have 7 uncles and 2 aunties.

I myself come from a sibling group of 8. I remember my childhood being fun with lots of siblings to play with, yes we bickered a lot but we also made up to. We went to school and mosque together and did lots of things together as a family.

My religion…

I am a practicing Muslim. I will fast during the holy month of Ramadan and will give charity where I can by supporting charitable organisations.

My work…

I have been working in fostering organisations since 2010.  I first worked for a company called FCA as a fostering advisor, talking to potential foster carers and offering them support with their journey of wanting to become foster parents.

This was a different role to what I had done previously as a telesales advisor for BT.

I am currently working for ACS as an administrator, but my role is varied, I still do the advisory role I undertook in FCA but now I also work with foster carers and young children. I find my job very rewarding and satisfying, my role allows me to go out on activities with foster parents, birth children and foster children. I am able to make some positive memories with young people which to me is rewarding and a life changing moment for some of these young people.

What ACS means to me…

Because ACS is a faith based organisation and they look to meet the child’s needs culturally and religiously. This is what makes ACS different for me. The team from the management down to myself as an administrator all work together as a team, to be able to meet the needs of the young children and foster parents.

When I meet potential foster carers one of the things they say that stands out to them about ACS is the ethos of being a faith based organisation and for the agency to have an understanding of their culture along with the young person that could potentially be placed with them.

Faces of Fostering…

We highlight the people that make Active Care Solutions so different and so special.  We are proud to be a fostering agency that welcomes people of all faith (including those that are not religious) where your religious needs are respected and understood.  We are an ethnically diverse organisation where people work together with one common goal.  To make a difference for young people in foster care.
