My journey to adulthood…

I was born in Kashmir which is a part of Pakistan, I came into this country when I was 5 years old and it took some time to learn English! One thing I fell in love with straightaway was football and Liverpool FC! On the whole my life went very quickly from primary to secondary school then to College, however, I do remember being the only Asian boy in the local football teams and captain of the cricket team. My childhood was good; I was blessed with good parents which is the best start you can have in life, and a big factor as to why I came into fostering.

I’m married, have 4 daughters and have a cat who I adore!

My spiritual journey…

As a Muslim I follow the Islamic faith which has provided and instilled in me a core set of values and principles, none more so than tolerance and respect for all humans.

My professional journey…

I’ve been around the Wrekin! always wanted to work with people and eventually settled into social work. I have worked with homeless people on the street, residential social work with young people, child protection and then into fostering. I have the privilege and responsibility of being the registered manager at Active Care Solutions but have also had the opportunity to work for the Core Assets Group which gave me the opportunity of working with young people and foster carers around the world which has been absolutely brilliant for my development and experience.

I’m proud to be the registered manager at Active Care Solutions because it’s so unique.  There is no agency out there that embraces faith and people of no faith and brings them all together.  I think this is so important in today’s society – as it encourages tolerance, respect and a vision that should be embraced as we strive to create awareness and understanding of other cultures and faiths, under the very special umbrella of fostering.

Faces of Fostering…

We highlight the people that make Active Care Solutions so different and so special.  We are proud to be a fostering agency that welcomes people of all faith (including those that are not religious) where your religious needs are respected and understood.  We are an ethnically diverse organisation where people work together with one common goal.  To make a difference for young people in foster care.
