About me…

I was born in a village in Pakistan with a difficult birth and an almost scare of not surviving. But here I am today with a lovely tightly bonded family of four sisters. In my early years I was told that I was mature and always quiet, the total opposite of my sister. Since a very young age I have lived in Birmingham. Travelling was difficult for me then as I would always get sick, although it is one of my passions now.

My working life…

I have worked hard and achieved accomplishments due to my mother’s support and guidance, graduated from Newman University as a Key stage 2/3 Teacher with Science specialism. I taught in primary schools for 5 years and prior to that I worked with children and young people at youth clubs. As I’ve always had an eagerness to work with and guide the future generation to their full potential. I have been married with my supportive and caring husband for 5 years.

Teaching is a passion for me; sharing ideas, communicate concepts, inspire conversation with those around and to see children develop in their progress is a great satisfaction. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, I decided to have a change in my career but I still wanted to work with children and young people. After some research and guidance from friends I found ACS and began working as a volunteer. I enjoyed working at ACS so much that I decided to continue on.

My role as Education and Participation Officer is to involve children and young people in various company activities. I have organised a group of young volunteers that work together to arrange fun, proactive and engaging activities like laser quest, monkey forest, Alton towers, and so on. We also arrange activities to celebrate the different festivals of the year for instance Easter, Eid, Halloween and Christmas. Throughout the year, I construct workshops to educate children and young people on important matters to safeguard themselves such as, child-sexual exploitation, anti-extremism, county lines and gangs. I also oversee the education of every child placed within the agency, ensuring they are on track, keeping on top of their attendance and managing any exclusions appropriately.

What ACS means to me…

ACS is like a family and as soon as you step a foot into the office the hospitality and care that you receive is outstanding. The managers, social workers and other staff members all work in unison with the child and the fostering family at the centre of their concern. I believe culture and religion shape a person and at ACS we all work hard to ensure individual diverse needs are catered for.

My Faith…

Faith is central in my life. My utmost desire is to seek God’s divine Love and Islam has inspired me to be the best person I can be. The stories of men and women from the past has motivated me to do my utmost in following in their footsteps like Lady Khadija was a successful business woman, a wife and a mother of 6.

Faces of Fostering…

We highlight the people that make Active Care Solutions so different and so special.  We are proud to be a fostering agency that welcomes people of all faith (including those that are not religious) where your religious needs are respected and understood.  We are an ethnically diverse organisation where people work together with one common goal.  To make a difference for young people in foster care.
