Young People’s Achievement Awards
On August 22nd, we held our first Young People’s Achievement Awards. This special awards ceremony celebrated the achievements of around 50 ACS young people aged between four and 18.
The young people were invited to the event as guests of honour after they were nominated by their carers for overcoming personal problems and reaching their goals.
All the young people received a certificate of achievement and a Well Done medal.
We opened the event with some amazing entertainment by a group made up of foster children and birth children called Muslim Star. They sang, danced and even wrote an emotive poem that left all foster carers and staff feeling proud of what we do.
Mohammed Bashir, registered manager of ACS, presented the certificates to the young people and congratulated them on their achievements.
We then had the pleasure of Mad Dominic the Magician who put on a fun and energetic show for the young people.
Food on the night was a Caribbean buffet provided by one of our own ACS foster carers, Marva Warmington, who runs a catering business called Sorrels.
