The rewards of fostering
We think that all of our foster carers deserve to be rewarded for the incredible work they do. The allowances we pay will help you cover the cost of looking after the young person in your care.
ACS doesn’t only offer you financial rewards. The specialised support and training all our foster carers receive is equally valuable, as this will equip you with the skills that will make you extremely sought after as a foster carer.
What sort of allowance does ACS offer?
The amount each foster carer receives in allowances does vary from placement to placement. Allowances are affected by factors like the age of the young person placed with you, the type of placement and the simple fact that some young people have more challenging needs than others.
The standard payment for faith-based fostering with ACS varies between £315 and £515 a week, depending on the type of placement.
What can I spend my allowance on?
In calculating a fostering allowance, we look at the costs of living with a foster child. These may include food, household bills and everyday living. At the end of the day, it is up to you how you spend your fostering allowance.
