What we stand for
Our goal is simple – to give every child we care for the best start in life by placing them with foster carers who can provide a caring home, as well as meeting their individual cultural and religious needs.
We believe every child deserves to grow up in a loving, nurturing family home – somewhere they can feel valued and have their own identity.
That’s why we’re the only independent fostering agency providing bespoke cultural and faith-based foster placements.
We started out in 2012, providing fostering assessments to local authorities across the East Midlands.
We noticed an increasing number of children and young people coming into care from faith led communities – and a lack of placements available to meet their specific needs.
So we decided to create a different kind of fostering agency – one that puts cultural diversity at the heart of its services.
We’ve grown over the past four years, but our values remain the same. We now offer fostering services in Birmingham and Manchester, as well as the wider West Midlands and East Lancashire areas.
Walking the talk
In many communities, it is common that families will speak several languages. In the UK, more families than ever before are from dual-heritage communities and speak more than one language.
Our commitment to our unique cultural and faith-based approach is demonstrated in the many languages our staff members and carers can speak. Members of the ACS team are fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Hindi, Mirpuri and Potwari, and our foster carers in Urdu, Mirpuri, Potwari, Dutch, Jamaican Patois and Hungarian.
Being able to place young people with carers who share their language, customs and cultural conventions is what differentiates us from other foster care agencies.
