Our team is made up of staff from diverse backgrounds, working together to support our carers and change children’s lives.
Meet the crew!
Hello! My names Jenny and I’m the new Placements Officer at Active Care Solutions.
My role is to match children and young people with the right Foster Carers for them and with carers who can meet their needs.
I’ve previously worked at different fostering agencies for over 5 years in lots of different roles and I’m really enjoying working at Active Care Solutions.
I’m sure I’ll meet you at one of the events soon!
I am qualified as a Social Worker in 2012 at DE Montfort University and I am a supervising social worker for ACS.
I have experience working as a domestic violence officer, a special needs officer, a mental health crisis worker and I have also worked for a local authority in a safeguarding team.
On my days off, my family keeps me busy! In my spare time I enjoy shopping and cooking.
I am a support worker and a care-experienced mentor.
Having been in care between the ages of five and 16, I was left with a poor impression of the system. But I now realise that in helping other young people myself, I can make a positive difference.
I am very passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable people and young people who use social care services as I feel this is where individuals need a lot of support.
My job is to supervise foster carers to ensure that we are providing secure and loving foster homes for looked-after children.
Before joining ACS, I worked as a children and families social worker in a busy child protection and care management team for eight years.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my own family and going on holidays and days out. I also like music and watching football.
I am one of the supervising social workers for ACS. I started off as a student on placement and soon returned as a member of staff.
I absolutely love my job. Working closely with children and foster carers is an amazing and deeply rewarding experience. My personal philosophy is “Be passionate, be sincere, work hard and have fun!”
In my free time I enjoy working out, watching movies and eating (very common interests I know!).
I am the Fostering Service Manager for ACS. My current roles entail supervising the staff team, ensuring that our organisation is compliant, and making sure our customers’ needs are met.
One of my fundamental motivations is my dedication to making a positive impact on the children who are placed with our foster carers, and ensuring that our foster carers are supported.
I have two decades of post-qualified social work experience, and my hobbies include collecting foreign currency, reading books and supporting Arsenal.
A practising British Muslim, I have worked in the field of social work for almost 25, years from residential work with teenagers to child protection work.
I joined FCA (Yorks & Lincs) in 2002 to broaden my experience as a senior supervising social worker supporting carers and placements in safe family environments.
My work involves identifying placements, supporting carers, offering guidance and supervision. I work with the sincere belief that I can make a positive difference in young people’s lives.
I hold a fourth-degree black belt in kickboxing, a black belt in Jiu Jitsu, and I’ve trained in MMA, Judo and Muay Thai. I love training, competing but most of all winning! I have also been told that I am obsessed with cleaning. While I take my work seriously I have a great sense of humour and love to make people smile.
I’m Kas, the business improvement manager for ACS.
Mohammed, Andrew and I are the people who developed the idea of providing faith-based foster care, where the cultural, spiritual and linguistic needs of carers and looked-after children are met.
Previously I have worked with children with disabilities as an outreach officer. I have also successfully started and managed several businesses.
In my spare time I like to exercise, read and spend time with my family.
Unlike the others I have two meanings to my name, Mohammed means trustworthy and ‘Bashir’ means the bearer of good news.
As the manager on the team I don’t always bring good news! But what I do bring is a passion and commitment in ensuring that both our staff and foster carers work together in achieving positive outcomes for our children and young people.
I have worked for the Core Assets group for 10 years in a number of different roles. Initially as a senior supervising social worker, then as a children’s cultural advisor which focused on developing services for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking children in foster care both in the United Kingdom and also in Europe, this entailed training for staff and foster carers, advice and consultation, research and enhancing the support provided to children and foster carers.
Previously, I have worked in a range of social work settings including residential child care, and statutory and voluntary children and families teams.
